HDMI over coax

April 8th, 2015

HDMI has quickly become the de facto in video transmission. With the capability for audio and video all in one cable, it's widely used in multimedia and CCTV setups. In most of these situations you find the source for the video in another area or a completely different room, you will definitely need more than a standard 6 ft HDMI cable. Fortunately you can use that 6 ft HDMI cable with, the Enforcer HDMI Extender which sends all the information over a single RG6 Coax. This active solutions enables you to send HDMI video, audio and IR signals up to 100M (328FT). This solution is great for keeping your recording or playback video secure, yet accessible in the location of your monitors.

In a typical use case you connect your video source, IR transmitter and 5VDC power supply to one HDMI extender module. On the other end you connect a monitor via HDMI, IR transmitter and 5VDC power supply. Both HDMI extenders are connected via a single RG6 coax cable. This system is designed for active operation maintaining signal strength for the entire cable length. With support for 1080p/1080i/720p/576p/480p/480i your picture will look great no matter what video monitor you may have.
